FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please read the list of frequently asked questions below. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Carmon Drummond at 918-845-1145.
Are all practices required?
While we would love to see your rider at all practices, we know that flexibility is important to our families. We ask that you try to make one practice a week and that you arrive by 4:15 PM at the latest. However, we will not penalize your rider for not being able to attend or for arriving past our start time.
We have had families arrange to leave early as well so they or another sibling could attend another sports practice. It's important to us that your rider try other sports and not specialize in only one sport.
RACING
LOCAL RACES
The league requires all riders to ride 2 races per month. That is the minimum required. Generally, those races are the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. IF you are not able to race on one of the required races, you can contact your coach and submit your make up race in advance.
Local races should occur at your home track.
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP & STATE SERIES
We would like to see all of our riders participate in the state series race.
Earn a Special State Plate
The following requirements must be met for riders to earn a special state plate.
- Participate in 3 State Qualifier Races
- March 29th - Hardesty National BMX Stadium 10 AM
- May 17th - Sand Springs BMX
- July 18th - Mayes County BMX
- August 9th - Yukon BMX
- Complete 6 Local Races by July 14, 2026
- Compete in the State Championship Sept 12/13th
- September 12/13 - State Championship at Hardesty National BMX Stadium
How to help the team win the State Championship
We would like to see all riders participate in the State Championship Race September at Hardesty National BMX Stadium. This is the race the league uses to determine the League State Championship. You do not have to participate in the state qualifiers to race for the team.
GOLD CUP SERIES
This is an optional race series. While we would love to see our riders compete, it is not required.
The Gold Cup Series is a regional race series. We are considered the SOUTH CENTRAL. Riders compete for the top 3 of their skill/age group against riders from 8 different state. We explain this as a regional race series.
Key Details for Gold Cup Eligibility:
- Minimum Qualifiers: You must compete in at least two (2) Gold Cup Qualifier races in your specific region (Northeast, Southeast, North Central, South Central, Northwest, or Southwest).
- Finals Requirement: You must compete in the Gold Cup Final event, which requires participating in both the Saturday and Sunday races.
- Bonus Points: Every two local races completed before August 15th can earn one bonus point, with a maximum of four bonus points available.
- Scoring: Your total score is based on your top two qualifier scores plus your results from the Saturday and Sunday finals
Qualifiers
Park City BMX on June 27th and Yukon BMX Raceway on August 9th are the two closest to Tulsa.
